Doctor Synapse is one of the Retcons that formed in Negative Space after 64 destroyed Professor Vita.  Primarily inheriting Professor Vita's profficiency and interest in chemistry, Doctor Synapse has created various chemical compounds for a wide range of uses, such as offensive or medicinal purposes. Like with other Retcons, Doctor Synapse's appearance and role is reminicent of an entity who existed in the Forgotten Timeline, however he does not have any memories from or of his counterpart from the Forgotten Timeline.
Anatomy & Physiology
Anatomy and Physiology description

Doctor Synapse is a humanoid entity with a lithe build.  He has black skin patterned with silver lines, and a skeletal face with a black tendon on either side connecting his upper and lower jaws. Despite the skeletal appearance of his face, the sockets of his face house flesh and an eyeball with extended mobility. Due to the skeletal nature of his face, the expressions he can make are limited, though the bone appears to be somewhat malleable, particularly around the eyes.

Electricity
Dr. Synapse has the ability to generate an electrical current.  This electricity tends to spark between his horns, and can be used as a means of attacking someone and also controlling them.  Dr. Synapse is capable of controling anything within the body that is controlled by electrical signals, such as the brain and anything connected and driven by it.  Dr. Synapse further uses this electricity to manipulate a mass of organic material to do his bidding.  His control over his electricity is more suitabble to firing off pulses or sparks of electricity rather than a steady current.  It takes some concentration on his part to do the latter, so it's not very useful as a power source.

Nervous Material
Dr. Synapse can create a non-living mass of biomaterial that he can control using the electrical current he generates.  Beyond a few eyes and mouths scattered throughout the material, it is an amorphous white blob which can then be shaped into various structures such as tenatacles, walls, platforms, or doorways.  This white matter is also what constructs Synapse's tower door.  Its malleable nature means that it can slip through just about any gap or crack, or seep through porous materials.  It is also quite strong, so it can simply break through most obstacles as well.

Dr. Synapse is also capable of using the eyes within the material to see things.  He also has an indirect sense of what the material is experiencing at all times with enough precision such that if there was a wall of the material, he could tell exactly which area was being interacted with.  Though Dr. Synapse does not feel pain through the Nervous Material, if it sustains enough damage it will begin to wear him out.
Character Trivia
  • Do or Die - Synapse's compulsion to always be busy means that he'll get quite anxious if he's without something to do for too long.  His restless spirit leads him to fidget when trying to sit still, and his space is quite clean as his method of destressing or procrastinating is house work.  If left alone with nothing to do, he will find or make something to do.  Though this usually results in him cleaning or organizing whatever space he is in, it could also result in destructive behaviors...so if you want him to clean something it'd be better to just ask.  He's quite eager to complete tasks for people he favors, whatever they may be.
